Why Study Economics?

It’s the study of how the world works. It gives a new way of approaching problems. With the current economic crisis, it tells
you why it’s happened. Because economics can explain our world and
how to improve our world. I’d love to work in government once I graduate. Starting to start my own fashion business. ? ? ? Figure out how the world works. I want to go to London and make some money. Money. I wanna make money. I want to earn money. Ninety-nine percent of the news tends to revolve
around the subject of economics and politics. Global warming is an economic issue. It’s very applicable to the real world. You can apply economics to everything in life. You can apply it to any situation in life. I’m interested in why people do what they
do. The answer to poverty is economics. I’ve got some interest in the betting markets
and bookmakers. The reason why people make decisions. To make poverty history. It’s a really diverse course. To get a good job I need a good degree in
a finance-related subject so I can earn mega-money. I wanna make lots of money. I want to make money in creative ways. No,
it sounds so fake! [laughs] There’s more to economics than money. Economics means success. It’s good to, like, get into any kind of niche
of business that you want to go into. A broad understanding of business. Because I want to start my own business. Probably because I thought it might lead me
into business. Because I wanted an understanding of the forces
that affect our lives. It’s a stepping stone for your career. I’ve got a lot of options open, basically. Mainly just to get a job when I finish university. To go into the public sector. Because it relates to the real world and it’s
going to help me get a good job. It’s a versatile subject and you don’t have
to go into one line of work. To signal that I’m not stupid. This is what I was told I had to do. I’m up for being the next Alastair Darling. I study economics so I can have an informed
opinion on world affairs. There’s no such thing as a free lunch. I wanted a free lunch.

So people want to study economics because they'll make money? I'd rather do something fun with my life than make money…

So, your video is cooler than mine, but you should still check out "Why Study Economics at Georgia Tech". What I lack in charisma, I make up for in wit/inanity.

"Make poverty history." No form of economic policies will ever make that come to pass. If they really studied economics, they would realize that.

Economics is not a Ruddy Cake walk or a primrose path to an Evergreen Perky Job in this turbulent period of global financial crisis whether u r in Europe or USA… ,you guys would have to work at a blue-collar wage ,, ranging merely between 5 to 10 grands per month ….Don't misunderstand me but I Love the faculty of Economics as long as they don't smother it with catch 22 PSEUDO MATHEMATICS WHICH HAS RUINED THE SUBJECT'S INTERPRETATION ..I WOULD SUGGEST YOU ALL GET A PHD -IN MATHEMATICS FIRST

It's funny how some of the economics students wanted to "make poverty history" because they should be able to understand that as long as the world revolves around the concept of money, poverty will always be a guaranteed by-product of that concept.

I love economics. Although I am studying Computer Science, I love to study Economics. Thie is really how the world works and it is the base of our world. My favourite economist is John Mayrd Keynes. His theory is really interesting.
