How To Change a Mac’s Password With Out Knowing the Old One

{\fonttbl\f0\fswiss\fcharset0 Helvetica;\f1\fmodern\fcharset0 Courier;\f2\fmodern\fcharset0 Courier-Bold;
} {\colortbl;\red255\green255\blue255;}
\margl1440\margr1440\margb1800\margt1800 \deftab720
\pard\tx560\tx1120\tx1680\tx2240\tx2800\tx3360\tx3920\tx4480\tx5040\tx5600\tx6160\tx6720\pardeftab720\pardirnatural \f0\fs24 \cf0 \expnd0\expndtw0\kerning0
\up0 \nosupersub \ulnone \outl0\strokewidth0 \strokec0
\f1 \expnd0\expndtw0\kerning0 Now what you need to do is first you need
to have a copy of Leopard or the re-install disc, that came with your Mac. Now this can
be one that you bought at the store or the one that came with your Mac. Then just put
it into your Mac. \ Now this little window, right here, will pop
up, but you can just exit out of that. Then go up and restart your Mac. And hit restart.\
Ok its now restarting and right after you here that noise hold down the option key. Now this screen will come up and you\’92ll
see you can choose to boot from your hard drive or the install disc. Now use the arrow
key and go over to \f2\b \expnd0\expndtw0\kerning0
Mac OSX install disc 1 \f1\b0 \expnd0\expndtw0\kerning0
. Then hit enter. You\’92ll see the little Apple icon.\
Now this part takes a little while for it to boot up from the disc. So I\’92m going
to stop the video and then restart it once it\’92s all booted up.\
Ok. Well it took about two minutes for this to load. And once it has loaded. You use the
arrow keys to choose your language. English is the top one. You just hit enter. Then wait
a little while. Now you\’92ll see up here in the top left hand corner, not sure if you
can see it, sorry about the video quality. Then you choose Utilities. Then you go to
the first one, or the second one, excuse me. Then you hit reset password. \
Now you choose Mac HD, then you choose the user, that you want to reset the password
for. Then you type in the password. I\’92m just going to use \’93apple\’94. Then type
it again. Then you can make a hint or whatever, I\’92m not going to. Then you hit Save. This
doesn\’92t reset the password for the login keychain in the keychain application, but
this does let you get their profile.\ Ok now the password has been saved. So you
can close out. You\’92ll see this welcome screen again. Then you just go up to the Apple.
Or excuse me. Then you hit Mac OSX Installer, then you hit Quit Mac OSX Installer. Then
you hit restart. And then it will restart you computer, and it will bring you back to
the login screen, where you can use your new password that you just changed to login and
do whatever you need to do.\ This has been

    Am I missing something here? Doesn't the ability the do this render the security of having a password and safety of your files completely useless?
