How machine learning helps identify potholes on Los Angeles roads

my name is Alejandra. ERICSON HERNANDEZ:
And we’re using machine learning
to find potholes on the streets of Los Angeles. ERICSON HERNANDEZ: LA
has over 7,400 miles of roads and freeways. ALEJANDRA VASQUEZ:
That’s a lot of roads and a lot of potholes to fix. ERICSON HERNANDEZ: Right
now, construction workers have to manually inspect
roads for dangerous potholes and cracks or rely on
people calling in tips, which takes a lot of time. ALEJANDRA VASQUEZ:
While studying at LMU, we started to see if
we could figure out a faster way to identify
potholes throughout the city. ERICSON HERNANDEZ:
First, we needed data. So we rigged a camera to
a car, and we drove around to capture footage of
different roads and freeways. ALEJANDRA VASQUEZ: Then
we used TensorFlow, Google’s open-source
machine learning tool, to develop a model that could
quickly identify potholes, road cracks, and other weird stuff
with a high rate of accuracy, which means workers can spend
less time finding potholes and more time fixing them.

We know whatever the pot holes are it's the control of the people that you have fundid and the product that that are using to fail .community's need to use that own product and fill in thair Owen pot holes made to not fail you. The pot holes I filled in on my street for free out of waist.are still thare.the street next over .don't drive a lamborghini.down and the DOT have filled in to many times to count.failed by the gariteid not to fail system metrix that has failed us.walk your talk not just the talk you hear.take charge of your system community's not to fail and not to be relied on being changed by the to big to not to fail buy failing and inslaving you to relie.not a miss spell re,lie is the lie.expectations on others is the biggest lie .

Welcome to LA….the city where you need a 4×4 just because of the roads

Lame, no information on how or when this tech may be available for others outside LA. Or how well it worked or even if LA attempted to integrate the technology with the street department. The integration part would have been an order of magnitude difficult harder than designing the software. Ever attempt to work with city's ingrained culture? It's what you don't tell us that matters!
